Where To Stay: I stayed at the Empress Hotel. Beach front hotel right on the boardwalk & walking distance from every place we went for food or drinks, outdoor pool with a bar. You need your ID and a pool pass to get into the pool and you can’t bring in any outside food or drinks. Pre-Covid when we were aloud to have fun, the pool has day parties and even a night club called Paradise.
Also, super cool wall murals right outside the hotel perfect for photo opportunities or even just to look at.
Things To Do
- Beach! You can buy beach passes on the Viply App for $6.50 the night before OR you can buy them on the board walk for $9.00 the day of. Just get the app it takes 5 seconds.
- Shopping: The boardwalk has tons of cute beach shops and boutiques. They can be pricey ($100 on a bathing suit? Couldn’t be me) but I can’t lie I wanted everything. If you walk all the way down the boardwalk you’ll get to the convention center where the Paramount is. There are also shops in there!
- Arcades/mini golf: all located right on the boardwalk
Food and Drinks
Porta: Trendy Italian pizzeria/restaurant and everything was delish. There were 5 of us and we split a pizza as an appetizer. For my entire I got gnooci ala vodka. I didn’t take a picture because ya girl pregamed a little too hard and all my pictures are blurry…oops… but take my word for it, it was amazing.
Coney Waffle: Ice cream shop right on the board walk. $6 for a warm waffle and you get to pick 3 flavors. I picked mint chocolate chunk, rich and famous (my favorite- it’s a vanilla based ice cream with cookie and brownie pieces in it) & classic vanilla.
Toast: Cute breakfast spot with a BOMB menu. I got Strawberry French Toast and an Iced French Toast Latte with homemade whipped cream. My mom’s crab meat hash looked to die for. Highly recommend.

Watermark: Rooftop bar with an ocean view. They have a variety of fruity drinks, wines, and beer. It’s got a pretty view and was the perfect place to start our night out with some cocktails. I got the mango-vodka but the strawberry one my friend got was way better.
Festhalle & Biergarten: Rooftop German Biergarten. We got a giant warm pretzel, cheese curds, potato pancakes with apple sauce, and of course- draft beer. Our server was really kind and told us all about our next stop, Johnny Mac’s.
Johnny Mac’s House of Spirits: THEY GIVE YOU FREE PIZZA with your drinks. Yep you heard that right. FREE PIZZA. And it was pretty good pizza too for being free. They hold different event’s at this bar weekly. We unfortunately missed the speed dating event. Oh well, better luck next time.
