Located on 49th street, Seacrets is the biggest and best bar scene in OCMD. They have 4 different stages, a sit down restaurant, AND tables in the water. On weekends they have a party going from like 11AM - 3AM. You can go there for a day party or some night life or if you’re as wild as me, you go for both.
Know Before You Go:
First, they have a live feed so you can see what’s poppin’ over there before you venture out. Is it crowded? Is there live music yet? Are there still tables in the water available? If you’re as nosy as I am go ahead and check the live feed HERE before you head out.
Now let’s talk about what to bring. Majority of your day will probably be spent in the water so bring a pair of plain old flip flops, a suit that you won’t get too weird of a tan line in, simple cover up like shorts & t-shirt or even a dress is better so you aren’t responsible for more than one article of clothing, your ID-you can’t get in without it, $$$$ you might be spending once the drinks flow, and some sort of bag to hold your belongings. Some of my friends had fanny packs, I had a satchel.
If you pay a cover charge during the day, they’ll give you a bracelet so that you don’t have to pay again if you want to go back at night! My friends and I went during the day, came home to shower and get our night attire on and eat some dinner before we headed back to Seacrets again. Just showed them the bracelet and didn’t have to pay a second cover.
Dress Code: They’ll also confiscate anything that they don’t want you to bring. For example, a bachelorette party had a blow up doll they wanted to bring in and that wasn’t allowed. They have a whole list of crap they don’t want you to bring in but it just kind of just depends on who’s working the front that day. Their website literally says “Attitude Counts” which means if you’re nice & polite, they’ll work with you.
At night time you can’t be in a bathing suit like you can during the day. It’s treated like a club so dress appropriately. I wore wedges but some of the stages are in the sand so wear what you’re comfortable in.
If you’re too drunk they will give you the BOOT. Throwing up, fighting, falling down, just looking like a hot mess, or sitting down with your eyes closed are all things that will get you kicked out. They will politely ask you and your group to leave and they will walk you out. Happens to the best of us...
Your Day At A Glance:
Here’s how to survive a day at Seacrets. PACE YOURSELF. It’s marathon, not a sprint. You’re outside in the heat so stay hydrated and drink water.
If you’re out in the bay its hard to find a float or table unless you go early or you just wait around in the water until a group leaves and then you can claim your spot. You can leave your shoes on the shore line with everyone else’s. Yah, there will be 300 pairs of Old Navy flip flops there so just do your best to know your shoe size and try to remember where you left them or bring them with you into the water and put them down on a float when you can.
The floats are all wet but they are pretty sturdy so just be careful when you put your stuff down and try to place it in the center and not the edge of the float.
A waitress will come over to you and ask what you want to order. They have it all. If you like frozen drinks, try the Pain in de Ass. It’s like a better version of a Miami Vice. If they ask if you want a “floater” say yes 🙂 its an extra shot in your drink- I get one in my corona every time. They’ll ask for a card to put on file just incase people order drinks and then leave the spot they were standing in but you can pay at the end however you want. The waitresses take forever to get you your drinks but to be fair they are treading out from the bar on the sand into the water to deliver them to you. I suggest ordering your next round right when you get your first one so that by the time you finish your drink your next one is showing up or of course you can walk up to one of the many bars on the premises and get it your damn self.
After that you’re on your own. Best of luck, enjoy your day, and don’t forget to tip your waitress before you leave- she spends all day walking back and forth in the bay to serve you your drinks.
