Where to Stay:
Casa Dorada: Beautiful 5-star resort right on the swimmable Medano Beach. The view is perfect. Heads up- the water on the beach is ROUGH. *Almost* knocked my drink out of my hand- but we all know I’d never let that happen. This hotel has bars located around the premises as well as a swim up bar on the pool. While the hotel was not all inclusive, they had 2-for-1 happy hour drink specials majority of the day, every day at the bar. YUP. The staff is friendly and helpful. They were even so kind to fulfill my dad's request to have his room directly next to mine 🙂 yay. The rooms were large, clean, and we had no trouble with wifi by the pool or in our room.
The hotel has a number of restaurants available. They have a selection from buffet breakfast, room service, bar food at a sit down restaurant or poolside, pizza, sushi, ice cream & other treats, and a fine dining restaurant.
Nightlife/Entertainment:
Conveniently, right across the street from Casa Dorado is Mango Deck. Mango Deck is a bar/restaurant right on the beach. They have tables int he sand and a stage set up. They throw day parties where an MC hosts games on the stage where you can go up and win prizes! Some of the prizes include liquor bottles or shots, bandanas/ other merchandise, and even money. Some of the things you have to do to earn a prize vary. They have pick up line contests, twerking/dancing contests, trivia, and more. Get yourself a drink, a table in the sand, and get up there and win some prizes. Mango Deck is definitely a place to go for some good day drinking.
Baja Brewing Company: If you’re looking for something more chill to do during the day, Baja is a rooftop brewery that overlooks the San Lucas beach. It’s located on the rooftop of the Cabos Villas Beach Resort & Spa. You enter the hotel and take the elevator to the rooftop. There, you’ll find tables where you can sit and order food and drinks. The beer is good (I tried them all, of course.) If you’re an IPA drinker, definitely go for the Mexican IPA and if you want to try something different and more on the sweeter side, Raspberry Ale it is.
At night there is a selection of nightclubs that you can choose from. One recommendation of mine is Mandala. Mandala is located on the main strip next to other nightclubs like Coco Bongo, La Vaquita, and Saloon. You have an option of getting bottle service and a table or buying a drink yourself at the bar. If you’re with a group, definitely get a table. The club can get crowded pretty fast and not having a secure spot all night is a hassle. If you’re going solo or with a friend or two there’s no need to splurge on a table, just grab a drink and hit the dance floor. I had the best time at Mandala but in all honesty, every single one of these clubs feature the same type of vibe- dance music, drinks, and a good time. There were no cover charges so you can always leave and come back if you like a different club better.
Food:
Roasted Grill and Bar: The CUTEST family owned restaurant. The food was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. There are real trees inside the restaurant that they strung with lights. It feels like you’re sitting your own backyard (a much nicer version of your own back yard where someone is serving you.) There is also a mariachi band that might come back and serenade you while you eat- get your pesos ready to tip, they deserve it!
SUR Beach House: Located directly on the beach at the Bahia Hotel is SUR Beach House. This restaurant serves high-class food and high class-views. Everything was great from the beach from scenery, to the wine, right down to the food. Highly recommend the Homemade Hummus & Crispy Eggplant as an appetizer.
Views of the beach from the restaurant deck Appetizers- Homemade Hummus & Crispy Eggplant Dinner Option- Center cut Filet Angus with mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and a port wine sauce Dinner Option- Artisanal Lobster Pasta
12 Tribes Restaurant: Nominated for “The Best Cultural Experience” and rightly so. This restaurant is located on the Casa Dorada premises and features locally caught seafood grilled to perfection. I ordered the chicken and shrimp off of the “chefs platters” with corn on the cob and veggies and I was NOT expecting how much food came out (see below) The food came out on a large hot grill. I originally thought it was all of the food that my family of 4 ordered, but no, it was just mine, ha. I also ordered a mojito that was absolutely perfect.

Excursions:
We took a snorkeling sunset cruise. They greet you on the boat with drinks- great start. The boat goes off into the beautiful Pacific Ocean where you stop to snorkel. They give you the gear (life jacket, snorkel, fins) and they lure all the pretty fish near you with food so you’re guaranteed to get a good view. They provide you with open bar and food on the boat. Staff was super friendly and constantly asking if you need anything- they’ll bring your drink right too you!
